Nah....much prefer Manowar. They've been at it for years, and they're not kidding!

I had to look at this post one more time so it would read 6 posts and 66 views. 666.

Oh, wait, but if I post, it'll be 7 posts.

What to do, what to do. :frown2:

The Anvil documentary, by the way, is great. Highly recommended.

I've gotten more enjoyment out of metal in the past couple of weeks than I have in probably the past couple of decades.

Saw that as soon as it hit theatres.

Back in highschool some friends and I decided to start listening to Manowar as a gag. After about 3 weeks, the gag was on us because we realised we were having wicked fun. Their shtick is awesome, no irony whatsoever. They just bend you over and give you the metal 10 inch.

    How can you not like:

"Time to burn! You losers never learn,
no one controls our god damn lives!
We do just what we feel, riding horses made of steel,
we're here, to burn up the night!"

Lol. I've got one of their more recent (well, 2004) DVDs (got it at Borders for a buck). It's a metaliscious laff riot. If you want to check it out, let me know.

"The Gods made heavy metal and they saw that it was good,
they said to play it louder than hell, we promised that we would.
When losers say it's over with, you know that it's a lie,
the Gods made heavy metal and it's never gonna die!!"

I had some good friends who were metalheads. One of them was into Manowar and got me interested. I still have a couple of their dubbed albums on cassette. The song that has stuck with me is "HAIL AND KILL!"

Death to all butt metal" was a parody and "Manowar" isn't, right?

Right you got it, Phish are a parody, woops, I mean Steel Panther. Manowar fully believe the things they are singing about about Troy. You'd best stay outta there way, unless you want metal up your ass today...

Oy, that transatlantic is like eating a whole boston cream pie. The first couple of bites are delicious, but by the time your're halfway thru you're kinda nauseous. By the end I was in a coma, covered with vomit.

That...or a hotdog eating contest. I sure hope you post that on PE. Best description/analogy of that album I've read so far. Neal and Stolt have truly lost the ability to write epics. Sad actually. Oh well, we'll always have SMPTe.

Actually, I posted a full review on it at PE yesterday, but I didn't use the pie analogy. I'll stick it here shortly.
