Deep Purple concert the other night

I finally got to see Deep Purple live. They did not disappoint.

Steppenwolf opened up, they played 6 of their hits and then left.

DP was pretty darn good. Very very tight and powerful. However, IG's vocals just are OK, nothing like they sounded on like Machine Head.

Steve Morse of course is simply excellent. I bet there are 20 or so bands who would kill to have him as their lead guitarist.

Roger on bass was great, and the retirement of Jon Lord on keys gives Don Airey a chance, and he delivered. Excellent.

Anyone here going to see this tour?

Anyone here ever saw the original DP play live?

    Dave

I'm surprised that Ian Gillan still has any voice left at all.

I can't believe these guys are touring now...I guess with all the money the other retro acts are making on their tours, everybody's is going to try and get a piece of the pie.

So, they were pretty good, huh? And Steppenwolf? Are these they original guys, or at least the ones who haven't died yet?

Maybe there'll be a Cream reunion. Or maybe a Yardbirds reunion.

There was a Cream reunion. 2005 I think it was. Four nights at Royal Albert hall. Jack, Eric and Ginger were cookin'! I've got the concert DVD. Excellent show!
