Here, for my friends of music and other intellectual thought, is a clip from Charity Vance.........she is a good friend of my daughter and is doing well (so far) in this year's competition............the judges have positive comment at their initial meeting and I am curious to receive yours as well..............please click or paste the link and give it a listen.........the first time I saw this girl was in a musical play at a regional theater............she sang STORMY WEATHER and just killed it ! At that time, she was 13 years old.

Well she is just as cute as button! Nice voice and range. It sounded like she was a little nervous, but I'd like to hear what she can do when she has time and is relaxed enough to really belt it.

I don't normally watch AI. But maybe I'll watch it to see how she does. I don't think that I can vote from the Great White North though.

Well I interrupted Curtis Fuller to listen to this...not bad!! She has great pitch and range but no depth, power is lacking. Clearly she is untrained, but that's what makes her so promising.

My favorite stage name is still Fantasia (Fantasia Monique Barrino). The name alone got me to listen to her (and I hate American Idol with much passion). And she has the personality to match. Her rendition of Summertime was no Kathleen Battle, but it was very good.

Yes...............she is barely 17 and very nervous..............but last night she was the lead role in the 3-lady group and the first group sent through............still alive in the competition.

She's out................but she made a good run at it.............out of 10,000, she made the final 72.
