    Claude Trenier dies at 84

Along with brother Cliff, founded the Treniers, one of the first lounge acts in Las Vegas, and, according to Nick Tosches, one of the BEST rock'n'roll acts of all time. Difficult to argue. See 'Unsung Heroes Of Rock And Roll' for more praise...hell, read it anyway. In the meantime, read this:

I'll admit ignorance on the Treniers, but any group that had nuts enough to record a song called "Poontang" in that era is alright with me.

NP: Another overlooked genius- Fred Neil's "Other Side Of This Life" on a pretty clean original vinyl copy picked up this week. One side live, the other studio- one cut, Ya Don't Miss Your Water, credtited "with Graham Parsons, vocal and piano."
