    80's-ish Dream Concert

September 18th, 2004, in So. Cal at the Hyundai Pavillion.

    Here is the Band list:

    Morrissey
    Franz Ferdinand
    Siouxsie (no Banchees, but Budgie)
Tears for Fears (reformed or one guy?)
Billy Idol (dancing with himself no doubt)
    The Killers
Devo (Sorry no B52's this time)
Ian Brown (of the Stone Roses)
    Muse (who?)
X (Did you know Xcene was once married to Aaragon?)
A Flock of Seagulls (I wonder if they still have the high hair?)
Death Cab for Cutie (I've never heard their music)
Missing Persons (I wonder if the Lead Singer is still HOT?)
The Walkmen (Never heard of them)

WOW, I wonder if there will be two or three stages going (at the same time)?

I would like to go, but it is about 1-1/2 hours away and located in a hot/smoggy area...

(Hey Jim, how does this lineup sound?)

All they're missing is The Faint

Tears for Fears reformed -- I just saw an ad for their upcoming album, Everybody Loves a Happy Ending, in Ice magazine.

Devo! Dagnabit, and SoCal being so far away and all...but hey, I got the time...I should go...ROAD TRIP!!!

Muse are great, though not very 80's-ish. Think Placebo without the guy with the high voice singing lead. (Replace him with Thom Yorke from Radiohead, but only on vocals -- they haven't gone off into bizarro-never-neverland.)

It would be funny if Flock of Seagulls opened with that scene from Pulp Fiction.

"You, Flock of Seagulls, you know what we're here for?"
