Aw man! RIP Stompin' Tom Connors. :(

Some of you may be asking, "WHO?"

Stompin' Tom is a Canadian legend. Hockey fans may know this song.

But there are lots more...over 300 actually, and 4 dozen albums. Mostly amusing tongue-in-cheek songs about being Canadian.

He lived a very colourful life which you can read about here if you're interested. He protested against the lack of support for Canadian artists by returning six Juno awards.

I had the pleasure of seeing him perform live just a few years ago. He told some great stories and was a wonderful entertainer. There were lots of off colour jokes and comments that only someone of his character could get away with.

He was 77 so his death is not a huge surprise, but the loss will be felt all over the country.
