Anybody got a CD changer? What's in it?
Here's what's on mine, going random while I wait to hear if I get a new job. Wish me luck...

    Mr MidFi
First of all, best of luck, nobody.

Yes, I have a changer. It's at home right now, and I'm at work. But I'm pretty sure the following are currently loaded:

    The Killers - Hot Fuss
MidFi MetaComp 8 - The Slosh Files
British Sea Power - Open Season
    Procupine Tree - Deadwing
The Jayhawks - Hollywood Town Hall

My changer's "Random" function completely sucks. But it has "Spiral" play, which gives you all the track #1's, then all the track 2's, etc. It's not "random" per se, but works out better IMHO. Although the mix above probably wouldn't work well jumbled up, no matter how you do it!

In my car I do, which has:

    Sleater-Kinney - The Woods
The Year of Our Lord, 1979 comp.
Driving comp. (that I put together, that I'm only about 50% satisfied with)
Of Montreal - The Sunlandic Twins
    M.I.A. - Arular (... m .. m .. i .. i .. a .. a .. mia ...) - this one stays in slot #5 for my son, who always asks to listen to disc 5 (and usually track 2)
The Planet The - You Absorb My Vision

Good luck on the job nobody!

I've got a six-pack in my dash (as should all good Canadians ;) )

    1. Death Cab For Cutie - Plans
    2. The Shins - Chute Too Narrow
    3. Boy - Every Page You Turn
    4. Kaiser Chiefs - Employment
    5. The Trews - Den of Thieves
    6. The Shout Out Louds - I forget the title

The shuffle on my CD player only shuffles one disk at a time, which sucks. So when I want shuffle mode, I use my iPod. Which I'm doing right now, even though I'm not in the car.

NP: IZZ - Star Evil Gnoma Su, from the CD I Move.

    Good luck nobody.

I have a changer in the car.

    1. Genesis - A Trick of the Tail
    2. Gorillaz - Demon Days
    3. Talking Heads - The name of this band is . . . (disc 2)
    4. Common - Be
    5. Clap your Hands say Yeah - s/t
    6. Wilco - Being There (disc 1)

I try to change it up every few days, although the Talking Heads album just refuses to leave!

    Mine's A Six Shooter...
But I rarely fill 'er up.

Aether - Inner Voyages Between Our Shadows
    Roine Stolt - Hydrophonia
David Mead - Wherever You Are
David Pack - The Secret of Movin' On

Why can't musicians use the word "moving"? It's always movin'.

Probably in the minority, but I think random play is one of the great off-shoots of the digital revolution. I have a 5 disc changer at home and I rarely play it in "single" mode. Like midfi, I'm at work and can't check what's in it, but last weekend I had about 9 boys (ages 8-13) over the house for a camp-out sleepover, it was absolute mayhem (but that's a different story), anyhow, I had loaded up a bunch of albums that my boys & their buds seem to appreciate:
Aerosmith - Best of, U2 - War, White Stripes - Elephant...hmm....can't recall the others.

Conversely, I have a multi-disc player in my car and rarely use the feature. My commute is < 1/2 an hour, so single discs are just fine, plus loading & unloading discs in the clumsy head unit while driving is hazardous.

Good luck on the job front: change is good!

NP: Jar's Neverending Night comp...very nice!

Yes...change is good..and the interview went great. Just waiting for the guy I talked with to confirm the paperwork with his boss. He said he'd call me tonight or tomorrow to tell me where to be Tuesday morning. Goodbye cubicle world...helloo union card!

What;s in my cd changer? CDs of course!
I used to store my pancakes there, but what a friggin' mess.

Ok, enough comedy relief. I have a 6 cd changer in my main wheels and I rotate the crap out of them. Right now I have a Rae comp of Replacement tunes "Left of the Dial", Portishead's "Dummy", and I really can't remember what else since I haven't listened to all of them on my 1 hour drive today!

P.S. Best of luck with the new job. It's wouldn't be with the Cardinals, would it? :^)

    Best wishes, nobody...
I, too, like all good Canadians have a 6-disc player in the car.

    What's on:

M83 - Before the Dawn Heals

    Beck - Guero

The Books - Lost & Safe

    Helmet - In the Meantime

    The National - Alligator

    Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!

Welcome brother. Enjoy the benefits of unionization.
    Good luck!! audiobill

I have four changers including the 6-disc in-dash changer in my car. In the house is a Marantz in the living room which has a very fast changer mechanism (no more than 5 seconds when switching discs in random mode), a Sony ES in the bedroom (slow as hell - like 12 seconds to change discs but displays CD-Text which is pretty cool), and a cheapie JVC in my daughter's room that takes about 8 seconds to swap discs but sounds, well, cheap.

Right now in the Marantz playing in random:
    Shack - Waterpistol
American Analog Set - Know By Heart
Shout Out Louds - Howl Howl Gaff Gaff
    SFA - Out Spaced
    SFA - Mwng

Pretty nice random mix there :)

    Dusty Chalk
Lhasa - La Llorona & The Living Road (she's touring again -- I rejoice!)
    Jean-Michel Jarre - Metamorphoses
Matt Elliott/Third Eye Foundation - The Mess We Made, OuMuPo Vol 1 and Drinking Songs (I squoze them onto two disks)
