Any recent standout album covers ?
Or do you even pay attention anymore in the era of digital downloading? I still get a trickle charge out of inventive album art. Especially if it's colorful or full of stark contrasts. I always liked that Tuesday Weld cover on Matthew Sweet's Girlfriend album that I mentioned in my "How come..." thread, the mystery about why she's there, and what she's doing, and what's the relation to Sweet, but Spoon's Gimme Fiction has some of that same glamour, coupled with even more intrigue since the face is mostly hidden behind a red hood, with just her nose and a glimpse of her eyebrow as a hint to her beauty. To be honest, it could even be a male troglodyte hidden in the cape for all I really know, but the rich colors and graceful line of the nose suggest something special under that hood. Very bold and classy look, like the cover of one of those glamour mags.

I actually heard a story about that. They wanted a shot of Tuesday Weld when she was "over the hill" (really an ex-girlfriend reference), and they got permission from the Tuesday Weld people, until they saw the picture, and then they said, "no, no, you can't use that one, use this one", and the record company was like "okay", but then Matthew Sweet said, "you just don't get it" but by then it was too late.

In answer to the original question...can't think of any...I'm sure I will once I shut the computer down...

I like this one, even though the music isn't the best I've heard by them:

On the more artsy side, I do like this:

And even though I don't have the album, this one caught my eye:
