To be honest, it is a little hard to get too excited about anything alt-country for the last umpteen years, but I do love it nonetheless. And the new Great Lake Swimmers album just came out a coupla weeks ago, and it is a good one, though with the proviso that I only have a download at the moment, CD still in transit. Regardless, good music is good music regardless of resolution and sample rate, and these guys always deliver that cool pastoral folk vibe, the stuff that gets in your head. But listen first. Never really cared much for that BB Thornton music, only gave a sample to his first one, but he does have a way with getting face time on the news, be it sucking Angelina's blood or acting like he's never visited our planet before, no doubt a cool guy to hang around with while buzzed :)

Dunno if it's alt-country, but the new Justin Townes Earle is pretty damn good. Prolly more like country. :nonod:

I've been looking for some Slaid Cleaves for frickin' ever. Check this track out.

    More later.

I heard some off an older album of theirs - it sounds right up alley. It had a kinda Fleet Foxes vibe to it, albeit without the seven layers of reverb that the Fleet Foxes album has.

If so, I like it...it has an old timey analog sound to it.

I like that new Justin Townes Earl.

Also there is a new one that just came out with John Doe playing with the Sadies called Country Club that's pretty good too. Most of it is covers.
