    Question about USB
Ok the real high end Yamaha has a USB port to plug in your thumb drive with tunes on it.
Why can't someone make a accessory to plug into any receiver to do this??
Shouldn't hafta spend $1500+ to get this feature IMHO.

    EX: Yamaha RX-V2700

Probably because this requires something to actually play the tunes. A thumb drive by itself is just a storage medium, whereas most receivers rely on the iPod/MP3 player to actually play the tunes.

That feature is also available on the Marantz SA8001 SACD player ($1K) and the Marantz SR6003 HT Receiver ($1.2K)... I suspect we'll see it become more maintstream in a few months/years as an alternative to the traditional ipod dock...
