Looking for some audiophile headphones

I want high levels of detail, I've previously owned a paid of Shure's e2c and really enjoyed them, so I thought about getting the e4c or maybe the SE310.

Using the Goldilocks principle, I settled on the E3c. A non-audiophile friend of mine has had both and says the 3 is a good bit better than the 2. I recently replaced my pair (having stupidly left the others on a plane) over eBay for about $130.
