    Budget (portable) Headphone Amp?
    hey peoples,
i'm in the market for a headphone amp and I'm wondering if any of you have suggestions.

it needs to be portable, because I will mostly be using it with my iPod (or anything else that's portable, LOL) ya, so try for UNDER $150, preferably under $100...

maybe runs off a 9 volt?

can you read a schematic and solder? If so then you can probably do way better than 150 by building one of these.

sometimes you can find clearance stuff at head-fi. I got a Total Airhead on clearance for less than $100 after they came out with an upgraded version.

    here's a clarification for ya - I should've said headroom instead of head-fi. HeadRoom's website is http://www.headphone.com/.

Head-fi is a website/discussion forum for all headphone related stuff. It has some good resource info including DIY: http://www.headfi.org/

thanks thomas... you've got no useful advice, so get outta here and stop bashing other people. You'd have no idea, all you have is a simple mp3 player, amp and headphones... stop trying to convert everone to zuneism and get with the program.
