    Bit rate for WMA files
I've been playing around with my new MP3 player and noticed I have Windows Media Player set (defaulted) to rip my CDs at 128K in WMA format. Is it worth it to bump it up to 160K or 192K? I know I can test it and check it out, but I just downloaded 80 tracks and don't want to re-rip all these CDs unless it's worth it.

    I appreciate any input.

    Thanks.

Yes there is an enourmous difference between 128Kbps and 192Kbps (listen for yourself!). I wouldn't rip any music at less than 192Kbps. In fact, I would recommend changing the rip settings in Windows Media Player to mp3, then ripping at 256Kbps if you can afford the disk space. But certainly no less than 192Kbps. :)

good to know. i'll play around with some tracks at 192K. i might try mp3, but i'm actually pretty happy with how the 128K sounds. thanks.
