I just collected these to show them to fellow Audio Enthusiasts. If you see your system on here, and would like it removed please write me and i will do so. My Maggies, the poor right speaker without cover because of the frequent repairs. In the limitations of the room this was the best placement I could achieve. At the back is plenty of space for a free breathing sound. The placement left next to the unused chimneypiece and right next to the wall is fine with me. On a good recording left sounds will literrally come from out of the chimney, like the knocking on doors in The Wall, what is a tremendous experience. Putting the speakers closer to each other narrows the stage. Also the carpet in the center is reserved for the dog.

Virtually everything in my current system is from the 1980s.

I've taken a different approach to mounting my humble SMGs by anchoring them to the floor and the ceiling. I'm fortunate that I have a 14'x19' dedicated space that is detached from the main house. The size of the room I believe is ideal for my smaller maggies. Surprisingly, they are 90db efficient and therefore capable of generating considerable sound levels in this small space.

I've got the audiosystem setup and operational for now having used the placement guide from this forum to position them in the space. Now that I think I've got the placement sorted out, I plan to rennovate and redecorate the entire room with acoustics in mind.

Everyone seems to use the Mye stands which makes them vertical. It also gets them off the ground.

Taking a cue from a few Accoustat installations I've seen, this setup makes height adjustment easy and it anchors both top and bottom of the planar. This allowed me to vary the height so that the center of the panels are at the same horizontal plane as my ears while sitting in the room's sweet spot.

It also keeps the planes a bit farther away from my cats.

I guess that's why I don't have cats. With 4 giant scratching posts in my room they would go crazy.:ihih:

You will notice some changes compared to the previous picture in this topic. Florian kindly invited me to listen to his Divas and his parents Calipers and got me in touch with a high-end shop selling a pair of Stages. That's what happened and here they are.
I choose the other side of the room for acoustic reasons. They sound even better when the blinds and curtains are closed as in the picture. Also I didn't like the sun beating down on my equipment all day. But I miss the view.
Next is saving up some money to get a decent amplifier. Also I am considering upgrading the tweeter ribbons.

What wonderfull speakers you have, and they seem to be Apogees. Who would have thought ;-) Dont forget to stop on by, to experience the big mother of the Stage, the Grand. The Studio Grand, MiniGrand and Stage are based on Grand Technology. I will visit you someday to hear those Stages

Your speaker counts. Many planars are augmented with a cone woofer. Be proud.

I'm in heaven for the moment, this sounds just perfect for me at the time. I hear systems for a lot mor expensive costs, and still i walk around and think that my system is as good as - or bether than most of that I hear!

I also started with Maggies back in the 70s. They are what turned me onto the benefits of bipolar planar speakers.

Most likely, yes. It has a gentle impedance curve so even tube amps work well. As for power, here is Magnepan's recommendation. By the thin looks of the amp, it probably doesn't have a ton of power. Just don't expect high output levels.
