Year 2000 through 2009?

    Year 2000 through 2009?
    OK, I just raised this question on another forum and it's driving me nuts for some crazy reason?

    We call 1970 through 1979 the seventies, 80 - 89 the eighties and 90-99 the nineties. What do we call this decade (2000 - 2009)? The 2k's, the 0's? And who is in charge of this? They cleary are not doing their job! :D I am sure some/most will blame Bush, but I think we can give him a pass on this one. :p

    Anyway, just thinking out loud. Slow day at the J-O-B.

    "oughties" is close, but I think the answer can be found among the occupations to which Jethro Bodine aspired. Can you guess which one?

    A. Playboy
    B. Short order cook
    C. Brain Surgeon
    D. Double naught spy








    If you answered "D." you are correct. As with Nostradamus and Ms. Cleo, Jethro could see into the future and knew we would be calling this decade "the double naughts" or "naughties" for short.
