    x-mas menu

This year we are going to have something light and easy. I need it after the last four months.

    To Start:

Potage of Shellfish with truffle and buttered baby Leeks

    Main:

Roast rabbit in Puff Pastry with roasted Spring Vegetables and Jus of Coriander

    Sweet:

    Passion Fruit Souffle

    And you?

Who knows? This has been my busiest quarter in some time so "light and easy" will probably be the order of the day here as well.

Thanksgiving is the time for my Fresh Seafood Chowder but I missed out on the oysters this year and scrapped the whole thing. I can that resurfacing. My neighbor's wife makes baklava and we're already in negotiations.

In any case it will probably be non-traditional...

    ...and pungent.
So, I broke into the palace
With a sponge and a rusty spanner
She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

for new year though, we're having a party here, which involves alot of cooking, but we haven't decided yet what we're making, but as soon as I know, It'll be posted here

We always have Christmas dinner at my mother-in-law's and its always the same menu. The traditional turkey, mashed potatoes, turnip, peas and boredom. I will make the Cranberry sauce using orange juice instead of water to boil the cranberries and then adding a dash of freshly ground ginger. It will be the most savoury item on the table.

Don't get me wrong, I love my mother-in-law. She's an incredible woman but not a very creative cook.

What I'm really looking forward to is Hanukah at my Mom's house where we'll pig out on my Mom's homemade potato latkes smothered in sour cream and apple sauce. Now that's good cooking!
