Thanks - I've actually got two - but one is slowly just becoming a creature of its own.

We actually live about a block from the Oakland Banzai Garden and next month wifie and I are going to join the banzai club. That should be good for the plants because I don't have a very green thumb. And it would appear from her failure to sufficiently water the plants while I was away a couple weeks ago, wifie has less of one.

    Hey JM,

Very nice. FA basically said everything that I was planning to say with her post:

(yeah, this stood out for me too) What a nice cozy spot to share your favorite music with someone.

Nice bed too. We were looking at something like that one too. Our tastes must be similar in some ways.

    Feanor,

Nice place. What's the story with that mask?

Your little girl is so lucky to have such a great dad. But dad why no ultrasound pictures. You post every other kind of picture. Just kidding but I do look forward to seeing pictures of your baby after she makes her grand entrance.

Oh and thanks for the comment about the bed it was a housewarming gift.

Nice gift. Those things are NOT cheap. Someone must care about you a great deal!

Thanks for the daddy comments. I can only hope to be as good as you see me.
The ultrasounds didn't come out all that great. She wouldn't move her hands from in front of her face. Just a few more weeks though. It could happen at any time now.

I am enjoying them so much. I always avoided reasonably priced tower speakers because I could hear how the panel resonances muddy the sound. The Monitor Audio's are almost free of that problem. Oh and the extra bass sure is nice. Imaging is not as pinpoint as my last speakers but every other good trait more than makes up for it. I brought them home from the local shop to give them a listen and could not take them back.

John you have such regal taste in furniture. Living in Ohio, do you have access to Amish woodworkers? There's an Amish community about 45 min from my city. They have a storefront for their woodworking, it's amazing.

When I first arrived here from Toronto, I had a scheme to drum up a deal with an Amish woodworker to make furniture for me. Then I would take it back into the city and sell it for exhorbinant prices, which wealthy Torontonians would gladly pay.

My buddy runs a firewood service every winter in Toronto and makes enough to live comfortably all year long. He basically gouges people in the city who have fireplaces, and no access to wood. They happily pay what he asks.

Anyhow, great pics and I love your listening space. Your system in enviable and really has a look of both minimal, yet fully complete. I WILL make it down to Ohio someday soon, perhaps after the thaw, next spring I can hear that system in person.

I also look forward to the grand cultural experience that is central Ohio. I am hoping you will take me to Burger King, but of course I will understand if it's booked up. Maybe just Popeyes then...

Thaks for the kind words and I cannot wait for my new audio stand. I am so sick of looking at that old black cheap ass thing I bought years ago. My friend owns a furniture store and the furniture is Amish made. I am not an oak fan but her builders also work in maple and cherry. The quilt on the bed has been in the family for generations and when you see it you will notice much of the detaill and design is in the hand stitching. It must have been made before tv and home theater back when quilting was the thing to do.

When you come to town I think we can do better than Burger King. We can go to the Short Story which specializes in french country cooking. A nice duck cassoulet sounds good. Oh and they have a nice wine selection and I have some french champagne. Your wife is welcome but not much for kids to do and plenty of things to break. I love kids but they might be bored if we go all audio geek.

Well after wrestling the Krell and the other equipment here is how the room looks now. I even have room for the Sony cd recorder. I am so behind on vinyl to cd transfers it will be nice to have it so convenient.
