    Swiss B residence permit

Hey, I’ve been thinking about applying for the Swiss B residence permit too — did you find the whole process complicated, like with all the paperwork and requirements, or was it pretty straightforward once you got started?

Hi, I applied for a Swiss B residence permit last year, and while it wasn't a walk in the park, it was manageable. The process involved getting a job offer, gathering documents such as my passport, resume and employment contract, and submitting all of this to the cantonal authorities. For non-EU citizens, the application is sent to the federal authorities for approval. Once approved, I registered with the local commune and received my authorization card a few weeks later. All in all, it took about 2-3 months from start to finish of the process.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! It’s super helpful to hear the whole process broken down like that, especially with the realistic timeline. Good to know it’s doable, even if it’s not exactly quick and easy. Appreciate the insight!
