Maybe, just maybe, supply is catching up with demand (for the 80 gig box).
Hurry up Kex! I think I'm wearing L.J. & GM out with all of my questions. :yesnod:

Why no WMA?
If I go to System settings and Enable WMA Playback, then go to my music server on my computer, select a song in WMA format and try to play it, I get "The data type is not supported". I see the little WMA icon next to the song title on the list the first time I select the song for playback. What's up wit dat???
Edit: I'm able to play some WMA's but not others, so I think I'll blame this problem on WMP.

I get the same thing. I only have a handful of downloaded WMA files so I just converted them to MP3.

During DVD or BD playback, the in-movie options list include four squares: A red, blue, green and yellow one. What are they for? I moved my cursor to one, clicked OK on my remote, but nothing seemed to change. I did this with each one several times expecting to see a color change in the movie but I couldn't detect any noticeable difference.
Also, I noticed that while watching a BD movie (Chronicles of Narnia... ummmm... kid flick?) when I selected the AV option I didn't get the same menu Mr. T pointed out above. Instead, I got options that included RGB, Component, and I think another one... don't recall. I'll experiment with a regular DVD and check the results.
I'm really becoming more and more impressed with this "toy"/HD delivery system the more I play with it (the PS3 GM... knucklehead!) and I'm seeing that a lot of thought and engineering was put into this machine by Sony. Little things like how the options icons slowly fade out when you close it, how the information items such as the A/V bitrate counter and time/chapter indicators seem to disappear after a while without being noticed tell me that they paid attention to detail. Granted, this is the third spin for this box and I'm sure Nintendo and MS put some pressure on Sony, but it just makes me feel like I've got a classy piece of equipment that fits well into my home entertainment setup. Thank your co-workers at Sony for me, will ya Sir T.? :biggrin5:

Those are gonna be used later for extra content on BD movies that support it. A few may support it already.

The filters are available for DVD only.

Ok, so I rented Ratchet & Clank and I love this game. It's so fun to play. One of those easy just pick up the controller and start playing type of games. And the weapons are just crazy. The game is pretty easy and has a cartoon like feel to it. The cut scenes are hilarious. Great stuff if your a big kid like me.

Ya know, I never thought about renting games before buying them. I usually go the Demo route, but I'll have to get on my Blockbuster account and see what they've got. R&C sounds like a good game to help me get *trained* on the use of a console controller. It's tough to cross-over from keyboard & mouse to thumb wheels, at least for me anyway.
I got through the PAIN Crash Course last night and started playing the version I got with the free voucher that came my PS3. It's a pretty funny game. I like that I can get style points just for farting while flying through the air.
Did ya hear that Cartman?

I think the 3rd. I just asked this blue dude to give me a ride somewhere. The guy that gives you that slim gun or whatever it is. I disco grenade is hilarious.

After dropping $60 on that new DBZ I think I'm gonna rent before I purchase now. The game is alright but they left out so much. Now I'm gonna have to drop another $60 when the next one comes out :(
Some games are short too. I'd hate to drop $60 on a game and beat it in a week.
I may pick up a few titles though since the $30 greatest hits are available now.
GM, how's the motor storm?

The disco ball is funny as heck. Once you finish and win the final fight at the end, you have an option to go through the game a second time in challenge mode. Everyone is harder to kill but you get to keep all the weapons you've accumulated. When you get back to the planet you are on now you can buy the disco ball that never runs out of ammo. You can get extra skill points if you can manage to get everyone in the game to dance. I haven't been able to pull that one off. I always end up blowing someone away before I get the chance to make'em dance.

I was reading a review on Amazon about COD4 where the reviewer said he finished the game in six hours. Of course, his six hours is probably my six days, but for $52 bucks, I don't know. Definitely a game worth renting though.

I enjoy Motor Storm very much. It's a killer racing game. It's only drawback for me is that it doesn't support the driving wheel. Even with that said, it's a lot of fun. The next one is coming out soon. I plan on buying it. (And you know how cheap I am. It must be good for me to spring another $60 for it)
Another good game is Burnout in Paradise. Have you tried the demo?

Creating Music playlists
I want to copy songs from my Computer HD directly to a Playlist on my PS3, but it seems that I have to first copy the song to the XMB and then from there I can copy it to the newly created playlist. Is that correct?
