I was there over the weekend. Aside from some glitches around the event site (the bottlenecks around the pedestrial bridges) and the race track (I don't think that open wheeled race cars were designed to go airborne a la motocross whenever they came off the light rail tracks), I had a great time out there. Very impressive for an inaugural event, especially with over 150,000 in attendance. With some minor tinkering with spreading the crowds around and making the track smoother (and wider), and I think San Jose will have a winner on their hands. Amazing to see how fast those machines are up close and at street level. As a side note, my ears were ringing for a little while afterwards (forgot the earplugs).
