    Need some computer/software help

Friends tell me that Winzip is a free download. The official site says Winzip was never free. I can get a 30 day trial, or technically it can be free if you buy something from a list of companies or some such BS. It never was a concern but now I find myself needing it more often. Usually about the time the 30 days runs out

So where did you all get your Winzip? Why didn't this come with my computer like all the other Microsoft software? If it's free, where do I get it? Tell me what to do.

You can get Winzip at http://www.winzip.com/index.htm.

Winzip was never free, technically, but time was you could download Winzip on trial without an expiry however this might have changed. Nowadays I usually use 7-Zip with is genuine freeward and will pack and unpack standard ZIP files or its own, slightly more compact 7Z format: check it out HERE.

WinZip has ceased being free. I have been using 7-Zip instead. It's free. It works and acts like WinZip. Do a Google search for it.
