    JR Ewing has left the building.

    The man all the world loved to hate is gone. "Dallas" was the first prime time soap opera and opened a whole new form of television viewing, like we really needed that.

    Along with Dallas, he was also Jeanies master, as it were, in "I dream of Jeanie".

    Yeah, he certainly weaved a few threads in the colorful tapestry of television history.
