I've seen a few of those masters' works up close and they are stunning...books do not do them justice. And to think, within only a decade of its development, it was the invention of oil paints that changed the art of painting from mere representation (water color) to works of near photographic detail.

Come acrossed any Jon van Eyck yet?

Great! - as we say in the South, a little culture ain't never hurt nobody and learnin': can't nobody take it away from ya.

I'm sure you'll be sharing your pics with your AR family upon your triumphant return!

    P.S. I can't believe I just found this update.

Glad to see you're vacation is going as planned, Sir! Don't breathe the air too deeply, eh?

Van Eyck is simply incredible, 3! How 'bout some H. Bosch with that?

Mixing weed and Hieronymus Bosch is a recipe for madness, my friend.

Ahem, did our courageous OP make it back?

Or did he finally give in, slap on the Worf outfit, and decided to start a "new life" hamming it with the male dancers at The Melkweg (trans: the Milky Way, one of the biggest clubs in the city of sin - you can just use your imagination from there...). You know, with the right duds, Worf will fit in just about anywhere:

    You... you.....
Bastiches!!!! Ooooo my head's still laggin'. I've downloaded the pics from the cam I will give a happy/sappy recap soon as I can clear da schedule. Amsterdam mixed bag. Globalization has done its dirty work.. Same chit over here, same chit over there sigh... Still Rembrandt is still Rembrandt, Van Gogh is still Van Gogh... etc... The place is really turned tourist trap if you ask me. But all in all more pluses than minuses... NO reason to go back though.

If what they say 'bout Amsterdam is correct, it will take Worf a few days to "land" on Terra Firma. :cornut:
