Unhappy OT: I wanna hang myself.....

I'm gonna tell you a little story. My Daddy, god rest his soul, was a coarse gambling man... my Daddy last night came to me in a dream and... slapped me silly. I DIDN'T KNOW that a horse called Giacamo pronounced just like Jocamo... was in the Derby. Had I known, I'd have bet at least one hundred on it to win. I mean, c'mon it's like a neon sign from God saying... "hey fellahs in da band... bet this horse". But does my Guitar player tell me about the horse (he knew) do any of my horse buddies (Wayne, Larry Malone etc...) tell me about this nag. Does Dick King who I consider a close friend a man who practically rolls around in Horse Manure every August at tha Saratoga Flat track north of me, take one second to help me secure my son's college education? Ehhhh Ehhhhh... no one tells me. Soooo to make a short story... quite tragic and long, not a single, solitary member of "Jocamo" put a dime on Giacomo to win the Derby.... As my late daddy once told me after failing to get a winning number in to his book... "son that just goes to show ya.. .if it ain't for ya... it just,..... ain't ...... for ya!!"

    Sorry to hear about...yer loss?

If it's any consolation, take pride in knowing you didn't gamble your way to paying for your boys education. Who knows, maybe you dodged a curve-ball here, what if you won some, then got hooked, only to lose it all later and then some?
I dunno...I've seen those VLT machines and the tracks have some POWERFUL affects on some responsible and brilliant people...that stuff can be worse than heroine.

Besides, this gives you an excuse to send your boy out mowing lawns and raking leaves like the rest of us so his old man can have some alone time with his mom...or his speakers.

    Chin up, my friend.

Our little casino was pretty busy during the Kentucky Derby, lots of people. The biggest payout from what I heard was $65,000. The guy had picked the 1st & 2nd place showing.

    Hey Worf

From Troy, NY eh? I'm from the Albany area too, I live in Glenville.

I wasted some money on the derby. I guess a woman and her fiance in Cohoes NY hit the Trifecta with a $1 bet. Ther article in the paper said she also had the 4th horse correct in her superfecta bet, but she had them in the wrong order and didnt box them. Can you imagine?!?!

    Hey Worf!

Cut down that noose dude! Remember that life is full of second chances! You still have a chance to put down that wager on the Preakness or the Belmont! See? All hope is not lost, and all hope springs eternal ... well, that is if you lose the 50-1 odds!
