    Female logic. Please help.
My wife (bless her cute little soul) is going to drive me nuts. Here is today's story.
The road we live on tends to build up water when it rains due to pour drainage. (We've called & called but the town won't fix it. They say that the water will be gone in 24 hours after the rain stops) The water builds up to one side of our driveway. We have our mailbox on the other side for obvious reasons. But sometimes, it rains hard enough that the water spreads to that side as well, making it a little tough to pick up the mail.
Today, we had our driveway repaved. I told her to remind the guy to pad a little by the mailbox so we can walk to it even when we get a lot of rain. She just called to tell me how great the new driveway looks. I asked about the mailbox. She says, "Oh, I had them move it." Move it? Move it where? To the other side of the driveway. You mean, where all the water is? "Uh, yes. Isn't that what you wanted?" WTF!?
Sorry to all you smart/logical ladies/women out there. Just had to vent.
Ahhhh...... feel much better now. Just wait till I get home though.

If water on your driveway is an issue then perhaps instead of moving the mailbox, you should have moved the driveway.

You should just move to the other side of the street.

No silly. If you've moved your driveway, you won't be in the water anymore.

    Pay attention. GAWD!

That would depend on how far you need to go to get away from the water.

And you think that your wife is the illogical one?

Oh I see now. You're right. Not sure what I was thinking. :arf:

When I get home tonight, I'll dig up our driveway and put it over my neighbor's driveway. Think they'll mind? Then I can walk home from there. It's only 100 feet or so.
What about wifey though. Think she'll be ok with having to walk that far? Remember, she's about to pop now. 7 more weeks per the Doc.
Hmmm... I better chop a path though all those prickers too. Gonna be busy tonight.

    Now you're thinking!

As for wifey walking the 100 feet, you'll have to ask her how she feels about it. It might be better than having to wade through all that water though.

Or, you could maybe just put a drainage pipe in your driveway where the water gathers.

The boat slip could work. But no Koi. You don't want to attract Yogi.

Great idea. (really) But there is paving under that part of our driveway. (I know because I tried to put in drainage when we first moved in) The road is wider than it looks with paving extending about 10 feet past where it looks like it ends. No digging without power equipment (and technically without permission from the town). It's a pain.
The one side of our driveway only gets the water when it rains very bad. Just a few inches higher would do the trick. Since they were already there paving the driveway, it would only have taken a few extra minutes to add, and we'd have been good. Instead, we took a step backwards. We could move the box to the other side of the street where it would stay warm and dry, but we'd still have to walk through the water to get to it. The best solution I see is to have the pavers return and have him do what I wanted the first time. ($$$) Guess I'll need to take a day off to supervise. (more $$$)
