I bet he never got to see the invitation. Some fool who opens his mail just didn't understand what an honor it would have been for the pres to be seen with such a great man.

    Lol....
Philistines!!!!! I didn't get to see him but the kid did. LaSalle Students lined the motorcade route. Interesting. In my life I've seen Martin, Malcom, Bobby Kennedy but never a sitting or past President.

Naw, they just wouldn't let him near any living pres with those duds. Can you blame them?

I met Reagan here in California, back when he was riding high, and I was pretty impressed by the speech and the man. That seems like eons ago, now.

I also saw Carter here a couple of years ago speaking about the Middle East. He's very gracious and diplomatic in person. Whatever his faults as a president, you have to admire the man for what he's been doing since. If ever there was a model public servant....

Cheney was here campaigning for McCain. Nobody who wasn't invited knew about it, it was a gazillion dollars a plate, and I really don't know if anyone that was there really wanted to be there. There was a bitter cold wind blowing from the East that day....

Mebbe but I've also seen Rev. Al, Jesse Jackson, Muhammed Ali and other's and their still breathin' so far. I personally would swap the first two for any of the first three in heartbeat. I hate opportunists of all stripes.
