    Study: HDTV Still Too Pricey
    Here are two small press releases from marketing research company, Ipsos-Insight. The first has some interesting numbers. I've quoted all that's of interest from the second one.

    Consumers are showing a reasonable knowledge of and interest in HDTV, but it is still seen by many as beyond their means, according to a recent study conducted by global survey research firm, Ipsos-Insight.

    Consumer Interest In Small And Big Ticket Items Down From 2003

    "There is still a healthy interest in replenishing the home with new or replacement items like cell phones and PCs," said Lynne Bartos, a leader with the company's Cable, Media & Entertainment research division. "But momentum in interest of big ticket items like HDTV and home entertainment systems has leveled off."

    But even if we're not buying HDTV sets, we're still wanting as this New York Times story relates:

    These aren't exactly flush economic times. But believe it or not, according to a new Consumer Electronics Association survey, the most desired electronic gift item for this holiday season is a plasma TV.
