Sony Postpones PlayStation 3 Release

TOKYO (AP) - Sony will put off the release of its much awaited PlayStation 3 console until November from its planned spring debut because of delays in finalizing its next-generation optical disc technology, the company said Wednesday.

IIRC, the gaming division was one of the very few profitable divisions for Sony during last year's financial debacle. I'm glad that they are learning from their mistakes and making sure the tech is right straight out of the gate, but this can't be good for their bottom line. Plus, that gives the 360 a full year to increase it's installed base. What a fun way for Stringer to start out his tenure!
