    Circuit City is back !!

    http://www.circuitcity.com/sectors/opt-outv2.asp

    I guess to what extent remains to be seen. A friend of mine was on CC's email list and got an advertisement from them, so I guess at least back on the internet any way. Any one know info on the new owners?

    You beat me to it Mr.P, I got an e-mail from them yesterday as well and was going to post something on it.

    I searched the Net and came up with the following links that gives a little more info;

    http://www.systemax.com/techproducts.html

    http://www.dmnews.com/Systemax-wins-...rticle/136705/

    Basically it looks like this Systemax is a e-tailer that buys up recognized brand names and tries to sell through them. Since CompUsa is one of their brands maybe someone here who has experience buying through that brand since their bankruptcy can shed a little light on the quality and pricing of products offered.

    I found the CC email a big surprise. I would have thought the company that bought their inventory would have sold off everything. Maybe what's left is just the name and customer database.

    hi Mr Peabody its amazing how you guys find these links. I'm thinking your wright about! (what they have left their name and customer database) as i know sure that all the CC CREDIT CARDS that is owned by (CHASE) THAT ARE IN GOOD STANDING" will be transferred to a BEST BUY account in June of 2009.
    I'll be looking out for "Wooch" report on this article. Win.

    Hi yourself. That would be interesting to have your CC card converted to BB. I wonder how many people hung onto those cards after CC went under.

    They hung onto you, any outstanding balance was considered an asset by the court.
    Probably the only ones.

    True, I imagine there were still plenty of debt to be collected off those cards.

    Well considering that CompUSA is still considered gone in the minds of many people, I don't know is Systemax is all that good at reviving these names.

    Though I have no info on new owners, but I am very happy about their resurrection. Not that I shop there, but they bring competition and let's show middle fingers to Bestbuy!! YEAH.

    Yeah, I hate Bestbuy. They try to monopolize the market ever since the fall of compUSA. They want $150 for a pair of never-heard-before audio RCA interconnects and I was like WTF @#$@$@$? ........
