Cool Great deals on plain ol LCD

a FRIEND HAD HIS NEAARLY NEW SAMSUNG quit, and Sams replaced it, and threw in a 200$ credit, because a new set , same size, with 120hz instead of 60, was 200 bucks
    less.
I told him to get a LED, and he said there was a "shortage".
Can't speak for the rest of the country but I can't seem to locate one either.
Great time to buy a Set with a flouresent backlight.
And if you're a plasma fanboy , they are cheaper than dirt.
    GREAT time for a deal.

LED are not really the way to do until they can deal with the halo'ing issue attributed to local dimming.

I have seen it on every LED back lit set I have laid eyes on, so IMO fluorescent is better than LED backlighting at this point. If LED backlighting is going to work, they need more backlights, and better control over the dimming process so that it can dim single LED's, as opposed to the current 12-15 LED's we now have.
