Worth it to connect DVI for a CRT RPTV?

I just got a CRT HD ready RPTV with a DVI input. If I go with the DVI connection, will it make a difference in quality of picture? significant enough to stay with it. Or should I just stay with a regular progressive scan player and use component cables? Is DVI connection mostly for real digital TVs like plasma, lcd, etc. unlike CRT analog?

Whether DVI will improve picture quality or not will depend soley on the TV's internal deinterlacer and scaler. If TV's deinterlacer and scaler is better than DVD players', then DVI will improve the picture. But if DVD player is superior in those departments, then DVI connection might not yield a better picture.
