    Component video to S-Video question

My TV doesn't have component video connections. So, does it make sense to bring the connections from the DVD and cable box via componet video? I can go componet video from the DVD into my Denon 1804, but from there I'll have to go S-video to the TV.

Or should I just use S-video throughout gven this situation. I would gues that the connection is only as good as the weakest link.

    Use S-Video

Even though you use component cables you will not see the benefit because it has to be down converted to S-Video to your TV.

Agree - Use the S video.

A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link, and the lack of the components on your TV would be that. The good side is that S-video isn't all that much worse than component and it's a heckuva lot cheaper having one cable linking components as opposed to three.
