    Why whould i need amp/preamp?

I have my HT system, which consists of a yamaha 1300 receiver, paradigm studio 20's,pardigm center, KLH rears for now. I was just wondering why i whould want or need a seprate amp and preamp? Do i have enough power with my receiver or should i plan on upgrading it? Just been reading on here there are alot of people that have seprates? Just trying to learn more about audio. I use my system for 50/50 music and movies? Thanks

You need to finish up the speaker side before you go anywhere

Ditch the KLHs, get a good subwoofer, and you may be happy for years to come.

Don't feel you have to move farther than you have to. The whole purpose of this is for enjoyment.
