Why aren't HD receivers built into TV's?

Selling TV's labled as "HD" without the HD receiver is a bit misleading in my book. It's like selling a car without a steering wheel.

More people actually DON'T need the receiver than actually DO need the receiver, and those who don't need it shouldn't have to pay for something they don't need. How many people are getting HD through an arieal? Not many. Most people have their own receiver by way of a DVD player, satellite receiver, or cable box so it's not needed.

actually right now all new television 32" and up will have an ATSC tuner and by 2007 all sizes are required by FCC. Also cable card televisions are now available in the larger sizes. These sets will utilize a card for cable service instead of a box. So now in this digital age we will still have to use those big rooftop antennas for our local HD broadcast
