well the cls 15's were too big!!

after all that too big! i going to look around some more but right now leaning towards the reference series of klipsch RF82.i know there totally opposite of what i was shooting for and not a big bulky 15" woofer but 2- 8" makes 16" right?so i lose some of the midrange but my bose 201's left where they are should pick that up. i just hope they are capable of bassful music of i'll be looking for a 52"10,000 watt subwoofer...."jk" maybe.
    any thoughts??
    sure is a fun hobby!!!

Surface area for a circular object is 3.14 times the radius squared.

    15" diameter = 7.5" R
    3.14 x 7.5 squared = 176 square inches.

    8" diameter = 4" R
    3.14 x 4 squared x qty 2 = 100 square inches.

I'd take the one 15 incher. It has 43% more surface area.

Actually it's a truncated cone but we get your drift.

    Unhappy

ok but are the RF82's any good? the 15's took up much more space than i could lose.i wouldve had to move the tv down too far towards the door and that wouldve thrown off the whole system.

The newer Klipsch models sound nothing like their older horn designs. They have all of the effeciency, but lack the horn distortion the old speakers had.

I think they sound very good. And as you can see, I am a horn loaded speaker fan. I am a bit of a horn snob though, I think you have to go custom to truely get a good sounding horn loaded speaker.
