Time Warner HD DVR Update Good News

Apparently Time Warner, at least in LA, and I'm pretty sure around the rest of the USA, is now making HD DVR's available at the same charge as a regular DVR. Their (LA) web site for some reason says that the DVR's are not HD but if you talk to a customer representative HD DVR's are in fact available for immediate rental from them. Apparently this info will be updated on their website in the next month or so. To quote the old adage, "if you don't ask, you don't get!"

Thanks again for letting me know about them having it available in Hawai- I never would have asked them "when they'd have it here" if it wasn't for your post.

As you're the man, can you answer me on this- are all 27" HD ready Tv's 4:3 and not widescreen as I don't recall seeing any that are widescreen (I'm now a convert) at that size that are under $700?

I wouldn't say I'm an authority on this...but yes, 27" would most likely be 4:3. For similar screen size, try looking for 30" in 16:9.
