    Hi Sleeper_red

I have auditioned the RSX 1055 extensively. An amazing piece of equipment. An excellent buy IMO.

Rotel makes good performing equipment, and as far as I know - fairly reliable to boot. However, in this case I don't think that it's worth $500 more than the Yamaha RX-V1400, and it also lacks the YPAO feature (automatic speaker calibration) that sets the 1400 apart from most all of it's competition.

I seriously urge you to check out the Yamaha before you decide.

From what I know I think it is a great piece of equipment. I am curious as to how much you are paying for the reciever, and where you are buying it.

It also lacks Component OSD,DPL2x,Video Upconversion, and a GEQ for all channels. But the Rotel does have the double bass issue...(unless they have provided a fix for it in the last 6 months).
