surge protector/power centers

any big difference between the two? do people run their sattelite/cable lines into these things instead of directly into the TV?

I used a Monster surge protector I could never run my cable through it because it made the picture worse, I tried the Monster power center and it was just as bad. I read reviews on the Panamax power center switched to Panamax and it cleaned up the lines on regular tv. All my equipment is plugged into the Panamax. I think the difference is in the brand.

interesting. what if i already have a super clean sattelite pic?

I have a basic Monster surge/power conditioner that I run my satellite line through (the idea of a surge going directly from the sat line into the audio systems makes me nervous) and I have no problems with the picture.
