Subwoofer question

I noticed that many subs have their own volume knob. I would want the volume to increase as Iincrease the stereo system volume. Especially since the sub will be out of the way. Is this possible?

Yes. As you increase you volume on you receiver the signal to your sub will also increase thus the volume from your sub will increase.
