    Speaker stand help!

I have a pair of Ascend Acoustics CBM-170's... I know they sell stands from the company, but they are not that attractive in the pictures. Could someone please recommend some other stands that would hold/support these speakers? Thanks.

How much do you want to spend? What height? Metal, wood, or other?

    Alternative Speaker Stand Solution

I know this may not be what you're looking for, but I bought a pair of plaster plant stands ('found them at a garage sale for a pittance, but you can pick them up at any garden center or craft/hobby store, too). I then spray-painted them to match my interior (I used a stone/marble texture), added rubber feet, and they are perfect. The weight of the plaster makes them reasonably inert so I didn't have to fill them with sand, and you can screw spikes into them if you have carpet.

If you want to buy, check out some of audioadvisor.com's excellent speaker stands, they often have demo models on sale and offer free shipping for anything over $50. Much better than the flimsy stuff at CC or BB.
