    Cool Sony bdp-300

Hooked one of these up for a friend saturday.
Had a few glitches, but mostly it went smoothly.
He didnt like the 5.1 lossless for some reason.
Well, he did kinda, but preferred the DD, which was quite good at 9 mb
or so(I love Sonys bit meters, others need this)
One thing, the gangs of new york blu DVD is AWESOME.
Nothing short of incredible. Picture and sound is reference quality,
    a real showcase disc
AND the upconversion of DVD was quite good, contrary to what I have heard.
My friend got one at circuit for 340$.
Overall a very good device, I could live with one of these
    LG 42", integra 6.9, B&W 602s2, CC6 center, dm305rears, b&w

    Panny DVDA player
    sharp Aquos BLU player
pronto remote, technics antique direct drive TT
    Samsung SACD/DVDA player

I have the same BD player and I like it. Some minor complaints with load times and such, but overall a decent player and I haven't had any trouble with mine and have owned for about 6 months.

    Cool

THE LOAD TIMES are his biggest complaint.
He cant understand it, he is more impressed with the sound than the picture.
I am going over to hook the whole thing up, and integrate his computer into his HT, play with it some more, take a few reference DVDS.
    Thanks
