safe to run 2 headphones from 1 headphone out jack on a/v receiver??

just wondering is it safe to run to sets of heaphones from 1 headphone out jack on the a/v receiver if you have a y adaptor conected? Will it harm the amp or the headies in anyway or is it totaly safe to do?

good question, I've never really thought about that one. I can say that I've done it plenty of times and have never had any problems. I think it's pretty safe, but I don't know, I suppose it is 'possible' that you could run into problems if the circumstances were wrong enough.... :eek:
