    recommend speakers for my setup
I've been reading all the posts on this site, and learned quite a bit, but I am having trouble making a decision on speakers for my HT system.

I currently have a HK DPR 1001 and a mix of old Bose & KLH speakers, which I want to replace. This if for my 16' x 19' living room (with 20' ceiling).

    I have only 2 criteria:
1 - the speakers need to be small. Got permission from the wife to spend money, but only if they are small and unobtrusive.
    2 - less than $1000

I have listened small system from Polk RM7200 (seems expensive), Energy, Infiniti & JBL. I like the Energy Take 5.2 system. I have also heard good reviews on BIC, Cambridge, & Ohm...but cannot listen to them before buying.

    Any suggestions?

Do you want 5 new speakers plus a subwoofer for $1000, or just fronts for $1000?

I would like 5 new speakers plus a sub. I am leaning toward a HSU or Paradigm sub.

Another candidate would be the HSU Ventriloquist vt-12 system???

if your handy with a soldering iron i'd get these.

Then save up another $400 or so and build one of their subs. Otherwise I'd say the Ventriloquist would probably be fine.
