Question about a remote control

OK, here is the situation. I had DirecTV, I had a nice Sony box with the remote model # RM-Y807 and now I went back to DireTV and they gave me there new RCA box and now I have to switch remotes. I was wondering if it was possible to program the old SONY remote to operate the new RCA direcTV box? I already have the Sony setup to control everything and wanted to know if anyone knew of a way to get it programmed to control the RCA box. Please let me know if this is possible.
