Question about Panasonic SC HT-15

I want to hook up 2 speakers outside and be able to listen to our Satellite Music Channels.
Problem that I'm having is that there are no extra speaker connections on the sub.
So, what I can tell you is that I have signal coming from Sat Receiver into DVD Recorder and in the output of the DVD recorder I have RCA Video going to TV and Audio L/R going to Home Theater system into the DVD Recorder IN. L/R
beside that DVD recorder IN L/R is an output L/R . ( Not sure what it is for ?? ) anyway so I tried to hook up a L/R RCA cable to that output and connect them to my older Pioneer Aux Inputs. I didn't get sound. Hmmm ???
I can get sound if I disconnect the Cables off the DVD recorder output and connect my RCA cables L/R coming frpm my pioneer stereo but I would like an easier method if possible.. i don't really want to connect and disconnect every time we sit outside on the patio ...
I hope at least some of this make sense...

Any help would be greatly apprciated !
