    Progressive DVD player for under 300$

    Could anyone suggest a decent DVD player that costs under 300$ with following features:

    - Progressive Scan with 3:2 pull down processing - 30 fps,
    - Aspect ratio control (4:3 -> 16:9 & 16:9 -> 4:3),
    - Capable of playing Video CD, DVD-R/RW & mp3 (SACD & DVD-Audio not req'd),
    - Zoom function

    Preferred brands: Denon, Yamaha, marantz, Pioneer, Onkyo, HK, Panasonic

    The player will be used with Denon AVR-1804 receiver and B&W 300 series speakers with a digital TV. It also will be used to play audio CD's, therefore, "CD-sound" quality is important.

    Any recomendation will be most appreciated.

    Many Thanks

    I just purchased the Yamaha DVD-C740 this weekend and am very pleased thus far. I do not have it hooked up to a HighDef monitor as of yet but plan to. Check it out at the yamaha site http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/DVD/DVDC740.htm If you are playing CD's with audio text the title,artist, and track scroll across the front as well as on screen.

    Red face I have the Yamaha CD920

    I've been happy with it as well. Gotta be careful with disc loading to make sure they don't slide around but I've been more than satisfied and Yamaha has great support as well.
