Bias Lighting

Does anyone have a picture of how a bias light is installed? What does the fixture look like, where is it placed, how is it controlled?

A bias light is used to backlight a big screen TV and reduce eye strain.

Ideal-Lume has a variety of D65 lights for various applications, and they have pictures on their website. Do a Google.

Usually, a light that have color temperature of 6500°K (also known as natural color...same shade of color as sunshine) is recommended to be used for ambient lighting.

Walmart carry 18 inch fluorescent light bulb ($8.00) that comes very close to that temperature (like below picture). That is what I use. Typically, it is placed behind the TV as not be seen directly, lighting up the wall behind TV and the ceiling.

Not only the ambient light reduce eye strain, but it also reinforce the color on TV since it is a natural color.
