    Onkyo sr 602

    Hello,

    I have achance to buy a Onkyo Sr 602 7.1 channel receiver to replace a Sony DE925 for 169$. Is the upgrade worth it? Will I notice much difference? I wish I could take it home and compare, but as this is from a pawnshop, I can't. Thanks for any info.

    Likely not a big difference,the Onkyo might be a bit better.Depends to a large amount on the rest of your system,to upgrade your sound it is usually better to start with speakers and go from there.

    I have grown to really like Onkyo gear (I have an integra)
    If its only 169 grab it, it has to be better than the sony.
    A lot of cheaper SONYS HAVE integrated circuits in the amp section (bad)
    Onkyo, on the other hand , is known for their amps.
    I had a Sony for three years, the left amp burned out TWICE
    LG 42", integra 6.9, B&W 602s2, CC6 center, dm305rears, b&w
    sub asw2500
    Panny DVDA player
    sharp Aquos BLU player
    pronto remote, technics antique direct drive TT
    Samsung SACD/DVDA player
    emotiva upa-2 two channel amp
