new pioneer vsx-511 only one optical input

I just recieved a pioneer vsx-511 I bought off ebay. It only has one optical and one coaxial input. It appears to me that my DVD and directv tivo both only have optical outputs. Is there anyway around this, if not I'll sell it on ebay i guess.

I have no idea, I never needed it. This is your only choice if you want to use digital outputs on both components. It will probably be fine cause partsexpress doesn't usually sell crap.

I was just wondering if you loose anything in the conversion, but I guess if it is truly digital you either get it or don't get it, am I correct?

yeah it should work fine.
