    New High End system
I'm putting together my first high end system that will be used for both music and video and would like to get some opinions. I don't have a seperate room to really do a home theater so I will be using my family room.

61" Pioneer Elite Pro 1410 (plasma)
    Krell Showcase Processor 7.1
    Krell Showcase Amplifier 5
    Krell current tunnel preamp
    Krell full power balanced 300WPC
    Sonus Faber Amati Homage
    Sonus Faber Cremona Center Channel
    Sonus Faber Surrounds x4
    Velodyne DD15 Subwoofer
    Escient DVDM100 DVD manager
    Sony DVD Changer
    Denon DVD-5910
    DirectTV HD receivers x2
    Media Center PC
all controled by a Crestron system

    Thanks for your time.

Sounds nice. As long as you're happy with the rig, that's all that really matters. Is a projector out of the question? Space limitations? Too much ambient light? Just curious.

    Topspeed, thanks for the reply...
I did consider a projector but the room has too much ambient light (2 very large sky lights).

Make sure you don't skimp on cables & wiring
Since you made a sizable investment, I'd recommend you get good cables (component, interconnects, optical, sub, etc.) and speaker wiring & ask the person you got your main part of your system from what to recommend. Good luck

damh1956, you have to be bragging. What's not to like? Congratulations. Now you just have to tune the audio and video to the room.

Everything sounds nice- must have paid a pretty penny for all that stuff. Topspeed hit it right on the head- as long as you like it, everything should be fine. Sounds very very nice- I always wondered about Krell- my HT store carries a lot of their stuff and it's crazily expensive.

    Enjoy!

Surely I'm talking out of my ass here, but if you're going all the way with Krell and Sonus Faber, couldn't you find a better subwoofer than Velodyne DD15? or is there a budget contraint?

I don't think there is a better subwoofer

The Velodyne DD series set's the mark. Only the Velodyne Signature 1812 stands higher.

Wow! That should be quite the superb sounding system. I am a big fan of SF speakers... It appears like you will have many years of good sights and sound ahead with that gear. :-)

    Enjoy,
